恩宇 滿月囖!
Today is 恩宇's 滿月~~~ it is Taiwanese custom to give away 油飯 to friends & relatives...no red eggs here.
And today also marked the end of my confinement period... YAY!! I don't know how i survived through without shower, no washing of hair, eating 麻油雞 everyday for every meal and baby sitting ^^ Hasn't slept thru a single night since 恩宇's here :( And i really really wanna go out and have some fun, though it's going to be difficult now...
ANYWAY, today i'm just going to ENJOY my shower.... Don't know why, it's winter here but i still feel damn HOT!! Maybe the 麻油雞 is taking effect :p

Dec 13th ~ 14th: The birth of Little joe
Finally the moment has arrived...
On 13th Dec 2.30 am, i discovered bloody show when i woke up to pee. Shortly after, i felt contractions which was still bearable. So, i went back to sleep (falling asleep in between the contractions). Next morning, the pain got stronger and the contractions were coming at shorter intervals. I had a quick shower and a full lunch, then hubby grab my hospital bag and sent me to hospital. On the way to the hospital, we told ourselves TODAY is going to be 'The Day". But in my heart, i'm also telling myself finally the 'scary' moment has arrived. At the hospital, the intial examination showed tat i'm only slightly more than 1cm dilated, but the fetal monitor showed tat my baby's heartbeat was sometimes irregular. So, my gynae asked me to be admitted immediately. By late afternoon, they checked tat my contractions were not so regular and i've showed no progress in dilation, hence, my gynae decided to give me induction via the intraveneous drip (at 5 drips/hr). Wow, almost immediate, i can feel the difference! The contractions came at pretty regular but shorter intervals, and it was definitely more painful too! Till midnite, i was only 3 cm dilated... Almost wanted to give up, I asked my gynae if he can just take off the drip cos' i really couldn't stand the pain any longer, but he insisted tat i continued on with the induction, otherwise, it would have been a wasted effort since i've already suffered the pain for so long. The induction will help to hasten the pace of my dilation. Soooo, i bit my lips and tried my very best to endure. Neither could i sleep nor eat...
On 14th Dec around 7am, my water broke. I called for the nurse to confirm it and at the same time, she checked tat i'm 4 cm dilated. Huh?! After one whole night, only another 1 cm dilated... DISHEARTENED~~~
So, this continued on and on... FYI, the dosage for my induction was increased from 5 drips/ hr to 35 drips/ hr till i was fully dilated ( u can imagine the PAIN, and it was almost NON-STOP!!!) Also, for those who know how the examination goes for checking ur dilation, yah, the nurse did 'manually' help to dilate when she did the examination for me. Gosh, it was painful! By 5pm plus, finally i was told i can be pushed to the delivery room. I was so happy becos' the nightmare is finally going to be over and i'll be seeing little joe real soon! When the drip was removed, i don't feel that much pain anymore. The delivery room was very much like what i've imagined it to be. The midwife came to prepare me, telling me how to push..etc. Shortly after, my gynae came and after few pushes and with the aid of suction, little joe is out at 6 pm plus :) He has chosen 14th Dec to be his birthday. He's 2580g at birth (don't ask me why there's such a big deviation from the ultrasound scan, i'm puzzled too).
Twenty over hours of labour before i delivered my baby. No words can describe the labour pain i went through, but also, no words can describe the moment & joy when i felt my baby came out of me, and how relieved i was! I was engrossed with looking at the midwife attending to my baby, and i totally ignored the doc when he went on to deliver my placenta and stitched me..haha...I'm thankful tat hubby was around for me to 'grab' when the contraction pain becomes unbearable and to help me when i need to go toilet. And not forgetting to crack jokes and take video when i'm still in pain :)
